WARRINGTON Hospital's own radio station has been short-listed for three categories in the National Hospital Broadcasting Awards.
Radio General is a contender for male presenter of the year, sports output and special event.
The winners will be announced on March 31.
Kevin Farrell, from the station, said: "Last year we collected bronze for our sport programming and in 2005 Claire Grout achieved bronze in the female presenter of the year category.
"This year we hope to do even better."
Radio General is run by volunteers and funded by donations from the public and local businesses.
It broadcasts to patients 24 hours a day, all year round.
Sheila Samuels, director of human resources at North Cheshire Hospitals NHS trust, said: "Our trust is extremely grateful for the work of the volunteers in our radio stations at Warrington and Halton.
"They provide a valuable service to patients and we are very pleased that Radio General has been recognised in this way."
