Slaidburn, Forest of Bowland It was a drizzly and windy day as 27 members of the club set off from the car park in Slaidburn to start the nine mile circular walk.
There they began the slow climb out of the valley on muddy paths and firm farm tracks.
Stiles slowed the large party down, and frequent stops were made to allow stragglers to catch up. After having lunch sheltered from the wind at the side of a large barn, the group made its slow ascent up Sadlers Hill.
After reaching the valley floor, the final few miles were along the banks of the River Hodder, passing through the village of Newton along the way. This was very pleasant walking, and brought us neatly back to the Slaidburn car park.
