Jill Holman, president, who was delighted to see so many members on such an unpleasantly wintry afternoon, said how enjoyable the Page Four lunch, at the Jolly Thresher, had been before going on to give news of a special meeting in July, to celebrate the club's 75th birthday.
Other future occasions included the county quiz and the annual council meeting at Winsford, where one resolution, on the need to buy local farmhouse food, would be discussed. Also mentioned was the next group meeting and the outing to Boundary Mill, both in March, and two theatre visits, to see Kiss Me Kate and Oliver.
The speaker, Martin Jones, gave a most interesting and informative talk on Wills of the Rich and Famous. Mr Jones is a solicitor and works for April and King, a company which deals with the regulations and laws governing wills.
He explained how to safeguard the provisions in wills, and described the disastrous wills of some celebrities, from famous film stars of the past to John Lennon and Elvis Presley.
He was thanked by Joan Yates for his most helpful advice and enjoyable talk.
Winners of the competition A Favourite Brooch were 1 Joan Howell, 2 Barbara Riggans, 3 Diane Addison.
