Well it was a great win for us against Hull FC last weekend.
After the bad start we had, i bet it looked like one of those days, but us players always had the confidence to come back and win that game. That's one thing we have tried to work on this pre-season, and thats to stay confident no matter whats happening in the game. I feel if we can stay confident all season we have the ability to beat anyone.
Hull played the game we thought they would, and thats coming striaght down the middle of the feild at us forwards, you only had to look at there bench of forwards to realise that, but we was up for the task and there was some great hits in defence especially from Mike Wainwright who had a top game, but it would be unfair to single out one forward because all did there job.
You won't hear me praising the backs much this season but they also did the hard yards for us and took some of the work rate off us forwards, it was a big effort from them. Lee Briers as be given the name 'The Axe' after the hit he put on Wayne Godwin, but to be honest i think Wayne fell over his boot lace, well thats what i keep telling Lee.
We go to London this weekend were we will play the Harliquins. This will be a tough and physical game. Brain Mcdermott is doing a great job down in London and after i was coached by him in the England squad in 2005, i left the camp with a lot of respect for him, and his coaching. He will have his forwards very fired up and he'll have his halfs playing a very smart game.
I think Paul Sykes is looking very strong for them so far in the right centre and he will be one of the men we will have to dominant. The players will travell down to London on Friday and i hope we'll see a good turn out of fans, because you have been a credit to the game this season and it is very much appreicated by the players and staff. Lets hope we come back with the 2 points and a good performance.
Speak soon, Woody.
