TRAINS have been plunged into chaos after a bridge collapsed near Bank Quay Station this afternoon, Wednesday.
Some passengers are being forced to end their journey at Warrington and travel in coaches to their destination.
A spokesman for Virgin Trains said: "The culvert collapsed so we are having to divert via Preston and Manchester.
"For those coming from London through Warrington coaches are being put on."
