JOURNALISTS are not known as the most tidy of people.
Council agendas, legal textbooks and the old spike are all must have items for any self respecting reporter.
And the volume of material we receive each week at the Warrington Guardian means the news editor's desk is always a busy place.
So this week we had desk doctors Ken Bundy and Ann Clarke from Birchwood firm Claremont come in to pass their expert eye over one of our busiest desks.
The company, which has just moved to new offices on Birchwood Business Park, is the country's largest player in the office refurbishment sector outside London.
If, like me, you were unaware that there was an office refurbishment sector, you won't be for long.
Claremont has an impressive array of clients and Mr Gardner, chief executive, has been helping United Utilities move staff from its old Dawson House venue to the larger Lingley Mere home.
The company also works on smaller moves.
In fact, the company can do whatever you want - right down to sorting out desks like mine.
So, after their initial shock at the size of the task, it is down to business.
Despite what it may look like, I do know where everything is and after being reassured, the doctors suggest three simple tips.
One is to move my phone so the coil doesn't curl (there are studies believe it or not on what your curls say about your personality) and that has already been done!
Another is to move some of the pile of old papers to fill up some space - next on the list.
And the last is to look to replace the old computer for a flat screen - that one's out of my hands but here's hoping!
