Tremendously consistent try-scorer whose tally of 22 in 2006 placed him 5th in the Super League scoring list, the Kiwi international winger developed his all-round game last season, shouldering an increased work-rate taking the ball up early in the tackle count. He also celebrated a recall to the New Zealand team for the mid-season Test against Great Britain. Fa'afili has a strong vertical leap and is a superb attacker of the high kick to the corner, making him a focal target for Lee Briers' kicking game as he was for Stacey Jones at his former club NZ Warriors. He has also struck up a formidable partnership playing outside Martin Gleeson on the Wolves right edge. Born in Apia, Samoa, he joined the NZ Warriors from Manurewa Marlins, making his first grade debut in 2000 and scoring 38 tries for the Warriors in 98 appearances before signing for Warrington shortly before the end of the 2004 season. Fa'afili won his first Test cap for the Kiwis in 2001 and became the first New Zealander to score a Test match hat-trick against Great Britain at Ewood Park, Blackburn in 2002.
