A commanding presence in Warrington pack, due to his unflappable temperament as much as his imposing physical size. Leikvoll is a vastly experienced player who played over 100 first grade games in Australia before joining the Wolves for the 2004 season. A very good technical prop who is a strong defensive player close to the ruck, he is good on the floor and wins quick play-the-balls as well as having a good offload. A strong big game performer who has produced some of his best games against the top opposition packs in Super League. Australian born, Leikvoll counts off the overseas quota due to his British passport: both his parents are British but emigrated to Australia, whilst he owes his surname to his Norwegian grandfather. He began his professional career with Illawarra Steelers for whom he was U21 Player of the Year in 1996. He made his full debut the following season and was included in the merged squad when the club joined forces with St George Dragons in 1999. Was a key part of the St George-Illawarra pack which finished runner up in the 1999 NRL competition, and played in the Grand Final at Stadium Australia which grossed a world record crowd. Off the field Leikvoll is a big cricket fan whose sporting hero is the legendary Australian batsman Steve Waugh.
