A huge hit with Warrington supporters in his first season at the club after transferring from Bradford Bulls, Parker made a major contribution to the club's 2007 season despite being dogged by a number of injuries. A model of consistency on the field and professionalism off it, Parker has a huge work-rate and has good speed for a forward. Accomplished in both front and second row, Parker has accumulated a fine CV in the game, including holding the honour of captaining England to the European Nations Cup in 2004. After playing his junior rugby with Leigh East ARLFC, Parker was a graduate of Bradford Bulls Academy, and was part of a formidable Bulls pack which saw him win Super League medals in 2003 and 2005, and appear in three major Finals, winning the Challenge Cup in 2003 and the World Club Challenge in 2004, and featuring on the losing side of the 2004 Super League Grand Final. An entertaining character off the field with a sharp wit who is a popular guest of supporters' functions.
