Project to spark improved lighting
STOCKTON Heath Parish Council heard first hand how the town's £25million project to replace street columns and lanterns will benefit the area.
Dave Vasey, the council's highway asset maintenance and street works manager, delivered a presentation on the three-year Invest to Save project last Tuesday at the Sandy Lane Centre, on Sandy Lane.
One of the main aims of the scheme is to reduce energy output, while at the same time improving the lighting in Stockton Heath.
"It will support the corporate carbon reduction initiatives and benefit the area," said Mr Vasey.
"There won't be an increase in the number of columns - it is a one for one replacement."

A PARISH councillor for Stockton Heath has claimed Government chiefs are trying to get the population to turn to private healthcare.

"They want us to go private - I think it is a scam," said Cllr Boggan.
Stockton Heath Labour representative Laurence Murphy hit back at her claims and replied: "That is Conservative dogma."
