PUPILS lined the streets of Great Sankey to welcome a special visitor to Park Road Primary School last week.
Head teacher Meng Hui from a school in Xi'an in China was invited to look around and learn from staff in Warrington thanks to British Council funding which has also seen a group of head teachers from the north west visit China.
Park Road Head teacher Nicky Parkinson said pupils waved flags and made Chinese lanterns in preparation for Miss Meng's visit.
She added: "She was blown away during her visit as they don't have the same level of resources and there are no grass or green areas around their school whereas we have a huge field and pond.
"The pupils were really excited and got a lot out of the visit including learning about a different culture, their language and the way children in China learn."
