THE transformation of Bewsey and Dallam is well under way.
Warrington Borough Council has been tackling the area with a number of schemes to address a wide range of issues surrounding social inequalities in the two areas.
And since launching its programme of events to tackle the problems in the area already Bewsy and Dallam have been transformed - with an emphasis so far on the green spaces and chance for the community to get active.
Clr Kate Hannon, executive board member for leisure, community and culture, said: "A number of key projects are being realised through its 'grey to green' initiative.
"Dallam Recreational Ground has seen new perimeter fencing and treeline installed. Planning permission has been granted for the installation of two new mini football pitches alongside improvements to the existing rugby pitches.
"These improvments will see Dallam recreation ground become a focal point for sports development across the area.
"The funding of £49k from WREN was also used to enhance and put in place improvments to Bewsey Meadows. The aim of the bid was to ensure that Bewsey Meadows becomes a physical asset for the area and links to Sankey Valley Park."
And with work already started on demolishing part of Harrison Square, which will make way for new homes and retail offerings, the area is set to see more dramatic change.
The next target has also seen work start on a new communal space close to Molyneux and Southworth Avenue in Dallam as part of the Molyneux Triangle.
