A CULCHETH councillor has called on police to tackle speeding motorists on Wigshaw Lane.
Clr Matt Smith spoke out at this month's meeting of Culcheth and Glazebury Parish Council.
The issue was brought to the attention of councillors by residents in Pendle Gardens and Wigshaw Lane.
Officers say the area will now become a priority for them over the next month, as efforts are made to clamp down on speeding motorists.
Clr MATT SMITH said: “We are committed to taking all reports of speeding in our village seriously.
"The parish council regularly liaises with local police to ensure that local priorities are acted upon.
"We are pleased to have been able to respond so quickly to the reports we received from people in Pendle Gardens and Wigshaw Lane, and hope that the extra attention means this problem can be reduced.”
