TYLER Barnes gets to see his artistic side on display every day he goes to his Howley school.
The year four pupil at St Elphin's CE Primary School, on Farrell Street, has created a design which will be on show around the school as part of a new parking scheme.
And now the road signs are on show around the Salisbury Street area to advise motorists of the new rules in place.
The council launched the trial scheme in July after Fairfield Community Association, the school, local councillors and Cheshire Police worked together to tackle parking and improve road safety in the area.
Residents on Salisbury Street have been given permits and are the only motorists allowed to travel down the street on Monday to Friday between 8.15am to 9am and from 2.45pm to 3.45pm.
Restrictions are also in place on nearby roads.
And they asked pupils to get involved by designing signs for the scheme.
Tyler was picked as the winner at a school assembly on Friday, July 18.
Clr Linda Dirir, executive board member for highways, transportation and climate change, said: “We worked very closely with all partners to come up with a solution to tackle the parking and safety around this school and were keen that the pupils were involved.
"It’s great that Tyler will now see his work come to life. So far we have had great support from the school and residents in the area and we will continue to monitor the scheme to see how it impacts on the area.”
