A CHAPELFORD supermarket has set tails wagging after choosing their latest charity of the year.
Over the next 12 months staff and customers at Sainsbury’s will be supporting The Guide Dogs For The Blind Cheshire and Merseyside with the aims of creating awareness and raising enough money to name and sponsor the store’s own guide dog in Chapelford.
A total of £5,200 is needed to sponsor a dog with events in the shop so far including blind fold twister so shoppers could feel what it is like to be blind or partially sighted.
Last year the store raised more than £4,000 for the Warrington branch of The National Autistic Society.
Steve Wilson, Guide Dogs Liverpool team manager, said: "We are delighted to have been selected as the charity partner.
“We look forward to working together to raise awareness as well as much needed funds to support our life-changing work.”
