A PRE-SCHOOL in Winwick was praised by Ofsted inspectors for its motivated and vigilant staff and for its creation of challenging activities for children.

Winwick Pre-School Nursery, on Myddleton Lane, was handed the second highest rating available to inspectors after they graded the nursery as good.

This saw the school jump from a previous rating of inadequate due to the dramatic improvements by the nursery.

Following an inspection in June, inspectors noted that the staff were ‘enthusiastic and caring’ and the children felt safe at the nursery.

The school narrowly missed out on the highest rating of outstanding.
