SUNDAY’S World Cup quarter final in Warrington will help raise money for Wooden Spoon - the children’s charity of rugby.
The charity has donated £60,000 to the Warrington Wolves Foundation help disadvantaged young people in the town through the ‘Try Hard’ project.
‘Try Hard’ is a 10-week motivational programme run by The Wolves Foundation and Jobcentre Plus to give unemployed 16-19 year olds skills and confidence.
The charity will hold an ‘Egg and Wooden Spoon Race’ at The Halliwell Jones Stadium for the Samoa v Fiji where fans can compete to record their best time and compare against some of their favourite players who will also be taking part.
Fans meanwhile can use the code SPOON when buying tickets which contributes £5 to the charity for each ticket sold.
