Last week I spent a week in a place which was frequently referred to as Lanza-grotty by people I spoke to.
Before even going there I suspected that wasn't going to be the case as I know that all places can have their beautiful and less than beautiful spots.
Alex and I stayed in an amazing hotel in Puerto Calero called the Hotel Hesperia.
The staff were friendly and welcoming. The location was idyllic and not too far from the marina.
I got to use Spanish too and I love the opportunity to practise. We also rented a car and got to explore a bit of the island.
It had such a varying landscape and I think more people should give a second look to Lanzarote.
