A VOLUNTEER from Howley has been honoured for her outstanding contribution at a mental health trust.
Jade Kersalls was presented the Harry Blackman Memorial Trophy at the 5 Boroughs Partnership Annual Involvement Event, after she was recognised for her service and carer involvement while experiencing personality disorders and battles with chronic arthritis on a daily basis.
Jade, aged 43, said: “It was a massive shock and I shed some tears, but I am very proud to have won.
“While it is lovely to be recognised and I am extremely grateful, my reward comes from knowing that I am helping to make positive changes in the way people with mental health are viewed and treated, and seeing those changes for myself.”
