FIRE crews have been battling through the night following a fire in Winwick.
The blaze started around 4.45pm on Thursday at the barn at a farm on Hollins Lane, near to Hollins Park Hospital.
Fire crews say part of the building collapsed and have been working through the night to fight the fire.
They were still dampening the fire down on Friday morning.
Residents were told to keep away from the area because of the possible toxic nature of the fire.
A spokesman for Cheshire Fire Service said the single-storey half brick, half steel barn, was well alight when they arrived.
Two fire engines from Warrington were at the scene along with one from Birchwood and one from Stockton Heath to help provide enough water.
A fifth was called as well as a hydraulic platform and further engines from Widnes and Congleton.
Firefighters used two main jets to cool pallets and farm equipment to prevent the fire from spreading.
The road was closed past Hollins Park.
