LAST week saw the launch of The Big Idea, Warrington's new Internet TV Channel.

The launch took place from Monday, October 23 until Saturday, October 28, going live every day at 12pm on the-bigidea.tv Alongside the broadcast was a live chat where people from across Warrington had interactive discussions on the various shows and gave their comments and questions for those being interviewed.

The response was huge with lots of people logging on every day.

Together with the six staff involved in the creation of this channel, lots of volunteers were part of the launch, helping with all aspects of the production.

This included presenting live and pre-recorded programmes for the channel, and all the behind-the-scenes work, including camera work and assisting with the sound and digital video switcher.

There were also young volunteers in charge of directing.

As a young volunteer, I have had an amazing experience and I really enjoyed meeting lots of new people - the staff were lively, friendly and very easy to get along with.

I have been involved in a bit of everything and I also had the opportunity to interview a group involved in creating one of the DVDs shown on the channel.

The team now hopes to get volunteers even more involved in The Big Idea and eventually have them running it all themselves.
