Arthur WARBURTON

WARBURTON Arthur Husband of the late Mrs Christine Warburton, died on 23rd January 2023 aged 89 years. Mr Warburton of Goostrey, was born in Warrington in 1933 and lived there until 1971. He was educated at Evelyn Street School and served his apprenticeship with Electro-Hydraulics Ltd. After serving his national service in the R.A.F he went to work at the U.K.A.E.A at Risley followed by employment at Daresbury Laboratory as a Chartered Mechanical Engineer until his early retirement in 1978. In his younger days he played cricket and table-tennis for the works teams and enjoyed watching sports such as motor racing, cricket and snooker on the television. He was a member of Northwich Photographic Society for many years. He and his disabled wife travelled extensively both at home and abroad. He carried out voluntary work and was on the committees of the Northwich branch of Arthritis Care and also R.E.M.A.P which provides a design service to enable special aids to be made for disabled people. He was a member of St Luke's Church in Goostrey. He enjoyed being with his family and leaves his two daughters, five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
