A PORTABLE toilet was extinguished by fire crews on the side of the motorway in the early hours of this morning.
Junction 21 of the M6 northbound, near Woolston, this morning was the site of a blazing loo as Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service were called in to deal with the incident.
Fire engines from Lymm, Warrington, and Leigh rushed at four o'clock this morning to the site of a fire, only to find a portable toilet left on the hard shoulder.
A hose reel was used to extinguish it.
This is not the only incident today on the M6, but the only to involve flaming facilities.
The M6 has seen a variety of delays today, with a broken-down HGV causing a lane closure that saw vehicles backed up down the motorway this morning.
Thankfully, it appears the HGV breakdown and lit lavatory were unrelated.
