PRESIDENT Hazel Harkins welcomed us to our November meeting at the Milner Institute, Moore, and informed us that our recent tea and cake afternoon had been very successful and had attracted more than 60 people.
For the WI’s centenary year we have been collecting photographs and are now hoping to produce a scrapbook of this special year’s events.
Members were then invited to join a trip to Blenheim Palace in April and we were informed that our carol service will be held at Daresbury Church at 7pm on December 14.
We then held our AGM and this year’s accounts were agreed and adopted.
Our secretary had prepared our annual report which included details of the very interesting speakers we had had this year including a private investigator, Cheshire cheese maker, tombstone connoisseur, ex-employee of Granada TV, paralympian mountaineer, craft baker and trading standards expert.
We had also enjoyed various interesting outings including Arley Gardens, Gawsworth Hall and Leighton Hall, as well as participating in the Cheshire Show and the Hatton Show, which all resulted in a very interesting year.
The evening ended with a delicious meat and potato pie supper and Judith Helsby then thanked our president and committee for a very enjoyable 2015.
