A STRAWBERRY tea was enjoyed by all on a lovely sunny evening in a member’s garden in August.
Several members travelled to Harrogate for the WI centennial fair on September 3.
It was a very good day with lots to see and do.
Four visitors were welcomed to our September meeting.
The speaker was Janet Bradshaw, a historical interpreter in the education department at Tatton Hall.
Her topic of Nine Lives took us through the lives of people who lived at Tatton from the Saxon times to the land girls of the Second World War.
Janet was very entertaining as well as informative and had us all laughing as well as marvelling at how she managed to change from one outfit to another so modestly and without pausing in her talk.
Our next meeting is on October 14 and the speaker is William Boyce on the Red Arrows.
Visitors are very welcome from 7.30pm at Birchwood College, Brock Road.
Call Carol 740150 for further information.
