DESPITE the weather there was a good attendance at the April Meeting.
President Gill Fuller opened the meeting welcoming members, one visitor and one new member.
Tickets were on sale for the forthcoming group meeting.
It was announced that a County Federation open day would be held at Bishop’s House, Chester in July.
A visit to Roberts Bakery, Gadbrook, was planned for next year.
Gill then announced that Kath Alecock would be representing the Institute at the garden party to be held at Buckingham Palace which is part of the NFWI’s centenary celebrations.
The Speaker for the evening was Susan Craig whose late husband Mike had been a script writer for many successful TV comedy series over the years.
Susan was making a welcome return to the Institute and her talk was around the great age of theatre which she illustrated with old theatre bills and programmes of theatre productions and shows in the 20th century.
She is a great mimic and gave interesting insights into the great comedians of our time.
In her vote of thanks Shirley Dowson thanked her for her enthralling talk.
The next meeting is on Wednesday, May 6, in Lymm Methodist Church Hall, at 7.30pm.
