OUR president Judie Leah greeted members at our January meeting, wishing everyone a Happy New Year.
It was lovely to see everyone again, apart from two or three who are feeling under the weather.
Eileen Todd won the lovely tulips, which had been provided for the table by Judie.
After the minutes there were one or two items of correspondence including the annual council meeting at Winsford. Jennifer Radley and Jane Bettley agreed to go as our representatives.
Many members expressed a wish to go to the day out at Gawsworth Hall in July. We have a social evening planned in March, a beetle drive in April and a coffee evening in September.
Our speaker was George Hughes who told us some stories about his time serving with the Grenadier Guards.
The vote of thanks was given by Ann Braide.
The competition for a military item was won by: First, Denise Orrell, Second, Betty Jackson, Third, Hilary Brown.
We had a raffle and tickets were on sale for the forthcoming group meeting at Croft Memorial Hall.
Sue Morey gave us a sneak preview of the beautiful banner she has made for us. I am sure it will be the best in the show.
