CHRISTMAS was the theme for our September meeting, with members making several items which could be tree decorations or cards, using stitching and crafting techniques.
Our annual meeting was in October, and the main change to committee was the election of Irene Costigan as chairman.
Warrington branch had a successful year and members looked forward to a varied and interesting programme for the coming year.
Following the meeting, Cathy Johnson spoke about her contribution to the Magna Carta Embroidery, and explained the background to the work, and showed pictures of the remarkable stitching that had been done.
Warrington branch can be proud of Cathy’s contribution.
Irene Costigan showed us a folio of florentine embroidery held by the Embroiderers’ Guild and talked about the various techniques used in the samples.
We have some places left on a coach trip to Harrogate Knitting and Stitching Show on November 29. £25 including entry. Enquiries on 819243.
