Michael Janisch
For fans of: Gwilym Simcock, Empirical, Ant Law
FOUR years in the making, bassist, composer and producer Michael Janisch hopes to take fans on a journey with his new double-disc recording Paradigm Shift.
The album was made during improvised sessions at Pizza Express Jazz Club in Soho over two days while blending together numerous influences from electronica to punk.
It was then gradually crafted into the record that is out now.
Double and electric bass Janisch also worked as part of an eclectic quintet for the majority of the album.
His partners included multi-instrumentalist and didgeridoo player Paul Booth, US trumpeter Jason Palmer, Argentinian piano and keyboard whizz Leonardo Genovese, US drummer Colin Stranahan and London-based electronica maestro Alex Bonney.
- Michael Janisch performs at Band on the Wall in Manchester next Thursday, December 10
