LYMM'S Nomad Games has powered up one of the world's oldest boardgames.
The team based in Church Road has worked with Birmingham's VooFoo Studios to give Backgammon a digital makeover for the online game store, Steam.
This version of the classic game of skill and luck will see players challenge friends or pair up with opponents across the world in real-time in a bid to climb up the leaderboards.
The game also features a solo mode and tutorials that help develop your skills.
But with 'Blitz' mode, it is not all about the serious game – VooFoo has added an arcade-style mode with power-ups.
In the last 20 years, Backgammon has transformed into a competitive tournament game, played in world-class events across the globe.
Famous fans include the likes of Tobey Maguire, Morgan Freeman, Madonna, Lady Gaga, John Paul Jones and Vladimir Putin.
Backgammon Blitz is available for download on PC, through Steam.
Nomad Games are also giving away three limited edition prints of a backgammon board design by Alexandra Llewellyn along with a digital copy of fantasy adventure, Talisman.
