Clevigny Arbois 2013, £8.99, Lidl
Lidl have cleverly bought up a variety of French wines which aren’t produced in enough quantity to keep a supermarket going for month after month.
So you will have to be quick to enjoy this lovely nutty, dry white from the Jura region between Burgundy and the Swiss border.
There are real green apple flavours and it is lovely stuff.
Konig Reserve Pinot Noir 2014, £8.99, Lidl
Climate change means producers in France’s Alsace region are also trying their hand at red Pinot Noir grapes – with some success.
This raspberry-flavoured lighter example is well worth trying and like the one above the supply is limited so you need to buy it while it’s there and perhaps keep some for Christmas.
A real bargain.
