YOU may well have spent many an enjoyable afternoon at the Halliwell Jones stadium watching Warrington Wolves trounce Super League rivals.

But what about taking to the same pitch for a day of live music?

That is what the Infuse Festival is all about.

Organised by students at Warrington Collegiate’'s Peter Jones Enterprise Academy, the event is the first of its kind to be hosted at the ground.

Andy Gatcliffe, chief executive of Warrington Wolves said: “Infuse is about using the Halliwell Jones Stadium in a different way.

“By hosting a festival we want to provide a fun, interactive and fulfilling day for people of all ages from Warrington and beyond.”

Infuse will also offer a farmers’ market, boutiques, children’s activities and workshops in music and cookery.

Money raised by the event will go to the Walton Lea Project.

Businesses are also invited to take part. Roger Grogan is one of the Infuse organisers and hopes it will help promote Warrington as a town where businesses can prosper.

He said: “The idea of Infuse is to give businesses from the region a platform to promote themselves.

“we want the businesses attending to use the event to interact with potential customers, whilst meeting other businesses and actually writing business on the day.

“The day is going to have a real buzz around it with a great selection of businesses from a variety of sectors.”

Mr Gatcliffe added: “The great thing about Infuse is that it is also giving the businesses, creatives, sports teams and performers of the area a place to show off what they do, raise awareness of themselves, and perhaps recruit new customers.” Infuse takes place on Saturday, June 29 with around 2,000 visitors expected.
