GET the taste of a medieval battle as swords clash and axes ring at Tatton Park.
Taking place in the Old Hall, the medieval fayre returns for its 16th consecutive year and is tipped as one of the venues most dramatic.
It features the Battle of Tatton Field, as knights fight in full armour brandishing a range of weaponry.
There will also be 40 traders selling authentic food, crafts, ironwork and clothing.
Visitors will be able to watch displays of cooking over open fires, spinning and weaving, a falconry display, archery tournaments and cannon demonstrations.
Mick Ricketts, Old Hall steward, said: “For people of all ages who like their history to be exciting, entertaining, sometimes noisy and informative, but never dull, then Tatton’s medieval fayre is the place to be. We’re inviting people to come along, step back in time and mingle with medieval merchants, mercenary and men at arms — and to cheer and boo the battle finale.”
The event takes place on Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.
Tickets are £7 for adults, £4.50 for children and £18.50 for a family (two adults and up to three children).
Park entry is £5 per car.
