A MUM from Grappenhall Heys is set to perform at Glastonbury this year.
Sammy Dean will take to the DJ decks on Saturday afternoon at the major music festival, held in Somerset.
The DJ, a former Birchwood Community High School student, will be conducting a two-hour set in the Spike Bar at the festival this year.
Having spoken to the Warrington Guardian in the past, Sammy has explained her love of house music, and can't get enough of the atmosphere she creates when in control of the decks.
Anyone off to @glastonbury I am playing in the Spike Bar in the Glade 2-4 Saturday afternoon before Jon Carter. Sorting some fun, chunky house tunes. 2 hours of afternoon happiness. Forever grateful for this opportunity. @GlastoFestFeed @TheGlastoThingy @glastobation pic.twitter.com/4NF9lKZb35

In a previous interview, Sammy said: "There’s a sense of unity bound up in house music that transcends time, and you either get it or you don’t.
“When you fill a room with people and you have amazing DJs and live performers to lead the journey as they see fit, magic happens."
Speaking in 2014, she added: "I was about to hang up my dancing shoes and held a party for my 40th.
“About 100 people came and said it was the best night out in ages – the bar staff said it was more like a club night than a birthday party.
“I realised that in your 30s and 40s if you love house music, it never leaves you."
The mum-of-two will be performing between 2pm and 4pm on Saturday afternoon, hours after Newton-le-Willows' favourite son Rick Astley is set to open the Pyramid Stage for the first time.
Posting on Twitter, Sammy said that she will be 'sorting some fun, chunky house tunes.'
She added that it will be 'two hours of afternoon happiness,' and that she is 'forever grateful for this opportunity.'
