A CASUALTY was taken to hospital after a van overturned near to the M6 yesterday evening.
Two separate accidents were reported near to junction 21 of the M6 at Woolston at rush hour on Wednesday.
One car overturned on the northbound carriageway of the motorway between junction 20 at Lymm and junction 21.
Then, a van overturned on the southbound exit sliproad at around 5.15pm.
The North West Ambulance Service sent a rapid response vehicle and two ambulances to the scene, with one fire engine also attending.
Fire crews cut the van driver from their vehicle, remaining on the scene for around 40 minutes.
One person was then taken to hospital with unspecified injuries.
We are dealing with a collision involving a van on the A57 Manchester Road near to Junction 21 of the M6. The southbound exit slip road of the motorway is currently closed. Diversions are in place and motorists are advised to avoid the area.
