A MAN arrested on suspicion of murder following the death of Ann Marie Pomphret in Burtonwood has been released on conditional bail.
Police presence remains in the area as detectives and officers investigating the death continue with their enquiries.
The 50-year-old was released late on Tuesday.
DI Adam Waller said: “I’d like to reassure residents that we are working around the clock to investigate this tragic death and are following a number of enquiries.
"I am leading a team of specialist investigators from the major investigation team as well as many other officers and staff from across Cheshire.
"Specially trained officers will continue to support the family at this difficult time.

The grieving family of Ann Marie, known to her loved ones as Marie, died after suffering head injuries in Burtonwood have shared a touching tribute to the 'beloved mum who will forever be in their hearts'.
She was found dead in the stables off Old Alder Lane on Friday evening.
A murder investigation was launched following the 49-year-old's death and enquiries are continuing.
Her family said: “Marie was a beloved daughter, wife and mother.
"She loved nothing more than spending time with her family out in nature, looking after their horses.
"We are devastated that she has been taken from us so young and in such a senseless way.
“We ask that anyone who has any information no matter how small to inform the police as soon as possible.
"Marie will forever be in our hearts and we appreciate all of the well wishes that we’ve received, but ask that our privacy be respected during this very difficult time.”

A post-mortem concluded cause of death was serious head injuries.
Detectives investigating her death are appealing for a potential witness to come forward.
On Tuesday they issued a fresh appeal to speak to a dog walker believed to have been in the area on Friday evening.

A woman was seen walking an Alsatian or German Shepherd along Alder Lane between 7.40pm and 7.50pm on Friday near to the Fiddle 'I'th Bag public house and may be a potential witness.
DI Adam Waller said: “We are working tirelessly to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and conducting a number of enquiries in the area including house-to-house, CCTV and forensic enquiries.
"This means the community will probably see lots of officers in the area, but please do not be alarmed.
"They are there to provide reassurance, so if anyone has issues or concerns please speak to an officer.
“As part of our enquiries we’ve established that there were three cyclists with lights on their bikes who cycled together from the direction of Burtonwood along Hall Lane towards the ‘Fiddle I’th Bag’ public house between 9pm and 10pm.
“These cyclists could be vital to our investigation, so if you think you were one of them, or if anyone else has information that could help with our enquiries, please do get in touch with us.
"If you were walking your dog along Alder Lane on the evening of Friday, November 2 please come forward and call police on 101.”
