WHAT do other readers think about trying to get a GP appointment?

When I see a doctor, it is great. I have no complaints about treatment.

But getting an appointment is a complete nightmare.

You have to call at 8am to get an appointment that day, and I understand that.

But I had a problem which did not require immediate treatment, and I was happy to book in for days or even weeks in the future.

But when I called at 11am, I was told I still had to join the queue one morning to book in advance.

It makes no sense, and I feel it is creating even more work at surgeries to deal with a barrage of calls in the morning.

If I want to book for three weeks on Wednesday, why not?

Why created this avalanche of queues which are simply not necessary?
