WARRINGTON Schoolboys under 13 side became the town's first team in their age group to win the English Schools FA National Cup after a tight encounter at Bolton's Reebok Stadium on Friday.
Warrington's coach, Steve Hayes, was over the moon with the result and was immensely proud of his young team.
He said: "It has never been done in Warrington and just to get to the final was an achievement.
"We are the first ever Warrington team to win a national final in this age group and the boys were excellent."
Despite early pressure from opponents Barnet in the first half, the boys rallied in the second period and scored the game's only goal to win the final 1-0 in front of more than 800 spectators.
Centre-half George Cooper bagged the winning goal, curling in a 25-yard free kick to seal the trophy in style.
