STEVE Price admitted his Wire players’ “attitudes were elsewhere” during Friday night’s 28-18 defeat to top-four rivals Castleford Tigers.
Wolves were 16-0 down at the break at the Mend-A-Hose Jungle and despite a second-half fightback, they were unable to overhaul the Tigers.
With their next game being the Challenge Cup Final against Catalans Dragons at Wembley, Price was honest in saying some of his players lost focus, particularly during the first half.
“Clearly, our attitude was elsewhere,” he said.
“It was a very disappointing first 40, but I thought we did really well to get back in the game.
“When we were able to sustain pressure and bang out a few sets, we scored two good tries there to get it back to 16-12.
“It took us 30 minutes to complete seven sets. You’re never going to win a game when you’re dishing up stuff like that.
“We showed some good glimpses, but Castleford were clearly the better team.”
