DEC Patton says he signed a new deal with The Wire because he “did not want to miss out on something special.”
The Warrington-born half-back, who has shone as an interchange hooker of late, has put pen-to-paper on a new two-year contract with his hometown club.

There had been reports that Patton, who was off-contract at the end of 2018, had agreed a move away from the club for next year, with Wigan Warriors strongly linked with a move for him.
The 23-year-old admitted negotiations “took a while” but is now “made up” to be staying at The Halliwell Jones Stadium.
“The hope of winning some silverware was a big reason for staying,” he said.
“I think with Steve Price having come in this season the project is only just starting. We’ve done well in recent years but fallen just short.
“With how the team is now it feels like we’re building something special.
“I don’t want to miss out on the next few years because I feel like something special is brewing.”
Patton is now tied to the club until November 2020, extending a Wire career that has seen him make 54 appearances, score 11 tries and kick 80 goals since making his first-team debut in 2015.
The former Cardinal Newman High School pupil says playing for his hometown club gives his “an extra buzz.”
“I love being here at Warrington. I’ve played my whole career here so it’s something I didn’t want to let go of,” he said.
“It’s taken a while but I’m really glad to have signed now.
“It gives me a bit of an extra buzz because I’m from the town too. I grew up playing for the club and watching from the stands as a youngster.
“It means a lot to play here and I’m made up to have signed for another two years.”
