A STOCKTON Heath restaurant has been slapped with a low food hygiene rating.
The ratings are issued by the Food Standards Agency and are made publicly available online.
Amans, on Walton Road, was visited by inspectors on March 19.
They rated the Indian restaurant and takeaway one out of five stars.
The Food Standards Agency does not disclose the full reasonings behind the ratings, though general markers are made known.
In terms of management of food safety, inspectors found that major improvement was necessarily at Amans.
While in the hygienic food handling category and the cleanliness and condition of facilities and building category, improvement is necessary, say inspectors.
