A WARRINGTON school has been named ‘Inclusive School of the Year’.
Sir Thomas Boteler Church of England High School was given the award for most inclusive school by Warrington Parents and Carers (WarrPAC).
Warrington Parents & Carers Forum work in partnership with local families and organisations with the overall aim of improving the quality of life for children and young people with disabilities and additional needs.
Made up of volunteers both parents, carers, grandparents and family members, the group host an annual ‘Working Together’ conference – this year hosted at the Village Hotel in Warrington.
The conference is a celebration of the work done so far and their plans moving forward.
During which, there is a special section where awards are presented to those who have gone ‘above and beyond’ to serve the needs of young people in Warrington with SEND.
And this year, Sir Thomas Boteler were praised during the awards.
The school’s inclusion lead teacher and coordinator, Ben Large, attended the conference and commented: “In her presentation speech, chair Jean Fitzpatrick spoke highly of our SENCo Miss Faye Power, who has driven the provision at school forward so significantly.
“That has resulted in our school, as a whole, being recognised as a beacon of good practice and an institution willing to go above and beyond for the students in its' care. I was exceptionally proud to receive the award on behalf of Miss Power, the SEND Team and the whole of the Boteler family.”
