A MAN has died following a fatal collision on the M56 in Cheshire.
Police were called to the incident at 12.10pm today after reports of a crash.
Officers arrived at the scene on the M56 between junction 14, Chester Services and junction 12, Runcorn, where a vehicle had left the carriageway.
The driver appeared to have suffered a medical episode and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Lanes were closed while emergency services attended to the incident.
All lanes have reopened now but severe delays are still being experienced between both junctions.
A spokesperson from Cheshire Police said: "At 12.10hrs police received multiple 999 calls reporting a vehicle had left the carriageway on the M56 near to junction 14.
"No other vehicles involved, the driver appears to have suffered a medical episode. He was pronounced dead at the scene."
