A MAIN road through Warrington was closed by emergency services this morning, Thursday.
A large police presence was reported on Manchester Road in Woolston shortly before 10.30am, with three police cars and a police van at the scene.
Firefighters were also called to attend after a car – a brown Mini Cooper – caught fire at the junction with Bruche Avenue.
Thankfully, there were no reports of any injuries among any occupants of the car.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “Officers came across a car fire on Manchester Road in Woolston at 10.24am on Thursday, April 20.
“Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service was called and police officers remained on the scene to manage traffic.
“The road reopened at 10.39am and the local authority was informed due to damage to the road surface.”
