CULCHETH'S Ukrainian Family Hub has been praised by the MP for Warrington North this week, one year after the Russian invasion.

Charlotte Nichols joined other Labour MPs this week in meeting the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK, Vadym Prystaiko.

In the meeting, it is believed that the Labour members highlighted the party's commitment to supporting Ukraine as it stands against Russian aggression.

Labour leader Keir Starmer reaffirmed Labour’s commitment to Ukraine’s freedom, liberty and victory.

Sir Keir recently visited Ukraine, where he met with President Zelensky, vowing his unwavering support in the war against Russia - as well as stressing that Russia's leaders ought to be prosecuted for war crimes.

One year on from the beginning of the conflict, Charlotte Nichols MP has praised the work of the Ukrainian Family Hub in Culcheth for the work it has done in helping Warrington's Ukrainian guests.

Ms Nichols said: "Many of Warrington’s newest arrivals will be reflecting as we approach the anniversary of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

“The horrific war has caused untold hurt to millions of people. We must ensure those who are responsible are held to account.

“Labour has committed our unwavering support to Ukraine’s freedom and liberty.

“On Monday night I met Ukraine’s Ambassador to the UK, I told him about the excellent work taking place at the Ukrainian Family Hub in Culcheth."

The MP for Warrington North added: "I’m thankful for all the support my constituents in Warrington North have offered to the guests arriving in our town.

“The hard work of people like Kate McCarthy-Booth and Marie Segar from the Ukrainian Family Hub means families torn apart by war have the opportunity to learn English, share their culture and receive the help they need to adjust to living in the UK.

“As always, any of my constituents affected by the war in Ukraine can get in touch with my office by emailing charlotte.nichols.mp@parliament.uk."
