LONG delays on the roads are being reported in Warrington at rush hour this morning, Wednesday.
The issues stem from a crash on Chester Road swing bridge in Walton, with the road being blocked.
The A5060 Chester Road is blocked both ways between Gainsborough Road and Ellesmere Road.
This is causing congestion on other roads in the area as drivers try to avoid the closure, including Walton New Road, Ellesmere Road, Gainsborough Road, Centre Park link road, Wilderspool Causeway and London Road.
A spokesman for Cheshire Police said: “We received a call at 7.08am reporting a collision involving one vehicle on the swing bridge.
“A car, a sliver Suzuki Swift, is blocking the road. The driver is out of the vehicle, shaken up but with no obvious injuries.
“Recovery is on the way to remove the vehicle and reopen the road.”
