WHEN gym-goers say it’s a pleasure to be part of your gym, you know you’re doing something right.

Husband and wife team Paul and Becky Warburton are definitely onto a winner at Ryfield’s Gym having beaten off tough competition from gyms around Warrington to win the town’s Best Gym 2022 award.

The couple have been the owners of Ryfield’s Gym for the past seven years, taking over when Ryfield’s changed management and the new bosses wanted to offer more services to its residents and the local community.

There are weekly classes for residents, helping with balance and fall prevention, but the gym is also open to the general public, which many people aren’t aware of.

Their happy customers appreciate the work that Paul and Becky put into the business and voted for them to take home the best gym award.

Since its launch at the end of April, the Best of 2022 competition has named winners in 19 different categories.

Top honours for hair, nails, beauty, fitness, children and independent shop have been given out as well as those for fish and chips, pies, pubs, beer garden, café, breakfast, afternoon tea, roast dinner, pizza, burger and dessert already decided.

Voting took place over the weekend in the latest round of the competition with the award for Best Curry 2022 up for grabs and Monpura took the town’s honours.

In our search for Warrington’s best gym it was Ryfield’s Gym that came out on top with recommendations coming from people of all ages and abilities.

The gym’s tagline is “personal training services in Warrington for people who don’t like the big gyms” and it clearly works with happy gym-goers voting for Ryfield’s to win the award.

It’s a popular place for a workout with customers rating the quiet atmosphere.

One review on their Facebook page said: “It’s a real pleasure to be part of this gym.

“There are supportive people all around and an excellent variety of equipment that is clean and safe.”

Membership of Ryfield’s Gym is capped at 130 to prevent overcrowding and ensure that everyone has an enjoyable gym experience and they allow youngsters to train from the age of ten.

Paul said: “We pride ourselves on providing a quieter, safer space than many of the larger gyms which often make people feel uncomfortable.”

There are classes in Zumba, trampoline fitness and boxfit as well as military-style fitness classes four nights a week and Paul and Becky host a monthly walking club where we take members out into the hills and mountains.

The group has recently completed the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge and successfully climbed Mount Snowdon.

Becky said: “We’re absolutely delighted to win this award and the fact it’s voted for by members is great.

“We’re just a normal couple doing our best with our business and to get an award like this shows we’re impacting our members in the right way.”

There are two membership options at Ryfield’s with the basic priced at £19 per month allowing unlimited gym access and one class per week.

The premium membership costs £32.50 and you have unlimited gym access and all classes.
