WHEN regulars of a town centre gastropub are referred to as fans rather than customers, you know it’s a popular place.

And it’s thanks to their dedicated army of fans that Dead Eyes on Bridge Street has taken Warrington’s Best Burger 2022 title.

Since its launch at the end of April, the Best of 2022 competition has named winners in 15 different categories.

Top honours for hair, nails, beauty, fitness, children and independent shop have been given out as well as those for fish and chips, pies, pubs, beer garden, breakfast, afternoon tea, roast dinner and pizza already decided.

Voting is currently taking place in the latest round of the competition with the award for Best Cafe 2022 up for grabs, and voting closes at midnight on Monday, August 15.

Next up we were searching for the town’s best burger and Dead Eyes came out on top.

It’s no surprise they took the crown when you hear about their best-selling item on the menu – Bourbon glazed cheeseburger with bacon, cheese, lettuce and tomato served on a brioche bun with fries.

New owner Graeme Keast took over at the pumps in March last year when the venue specialised in cocktails and street food and Graeme and his team wanted to enhance what was already there and working well.

Graeme, who has lived in Warrington for 16 years, said: “We’re famous for our burgers, ribs and cocktails and we don’t say customers, they’re Dead Eyes fans.

“The food on our menu is to die for and as well as dining in the restaurant you can take it away or have it delivered.

“Everything is homemade, including the sauces, and all the ingredients are sourced locally.

“We buy quality ingredients and produce quality food every time.”

Other popular burger options on the menu include crispy chicken with sriracha mayonnaise and crispy coconut chicken with mango chilli jam, and the vegetarian option is a sweetcorn fritter patty.

Graeme said: “Winning Best Burger 2022 is a reward for everyone’s hard work – it’s a team effort.

“We’re all very passionate about our jobs and the food and drinks we serve.

“We’re grateful to everyone who voted for us and will be putting on some special offers over the next few weeks as a thank you to our regular fans and anyone who wants to try Dead Eyes for the first time.”

Graeme’s A-Team is made up of Alex Tennant, general manager, and assistant manager Scott Gibbons as well as head chef Mikolaj Mozul and sous chef Josh Brady.
