SMOKE could be seen for miles following a fire by near a farm in Lymm today.
Just before 12pm, firefighters attended Reddish Lane in the village to tackle a fire that broke out on a combine harvester in a hayfield.
Firefighters from two fire engines in breathing apparatus have used three hose reel jets to put out the flames in the vehicle which contained around 1,000 litres of diesel.
Once the fire was out the crews damped down the surrounding area, a hay field where the combine harvester was located, to ensure there was no risk of fire spread.
The cause of the fire is believed to be electrical.
