TWO suspects have been arrested after a convenience store was robbed at knifepoint.

The pair, aged 28 and 30, were detained by police today, Thursday, in connection with a robbery at the Nisa store on Glover Road in Birchwood.

Both men have since been released under investigation after questioning.

A robber entered the premises at around 10am on Monday, May 24, and threatened staff with a knife while demanding cash.

He then poured coins from the till into the bottom of his jumper and ran away.

A Cheshire Police spokesman said: “Detectives have today arrested two men, aged 28 and 30, on suspicion of robbery.

“The pair were brought into custody for questioning and have since been released under investigation.

“Police are still appealing for information.”

The raider was described as being white, in his early 20s, around 5ft and of a medium build.

He was wearing a grey hooded top with a long-sleeved black top underneath, dark blue bottoms, white or cream gloves and black and white trainers.

Detective constable Cameron Mackay previously said: “While no one was injured, it still left staff shocked by their ordeal and we are making a number of enquiries to locate the suspect.

“If you have CCTV or dashcam footage or any information that may help our investigation, I’d urge you to get in touch.”
